The rattle sound is soft enough that it doesn't startle my daughter, but it still gets her to look over every time. She's been gnawing on the ears all week while the gum pain has been bad, and it's held up fine in the dishwasher.

My 5-month-old grabs this by the little koala head and gnaws on the ears for ages, which is apparently exactly what her gums wanted. The teether part is firm but has enough give that it isn't hurting her, and the rattle inside is quiet enough that I don't dread it going off in the car.

The rattle sound is soft enough that it doesn't startle my daughter, but it still gets her to look over every time. She's been chewing on the teether part nonstop since her first tooth started poking through, and it's held up fine in the dishwasher too.
